Every other Saturday or so, the family would load up and drive to Palmyra or Monroe City. His favorite places were the hardware stores that had tools and fishing gear. Now growing up in the country wasn’t all bad. The fact is he never grew up. He’s still the same country kid that went barefoot and shirtless all summer.
The growing interest in shooting from childhood, he received his first gun, a Stevens 16 gauge single shot as a Christmas gift from his elder brother when he was thirteen. He attended rural elementary schools and completed his schooling from Palmyra and Monroe City High Schools. He then enrolled in Hannibal-LaGrange College and later at the University of Missouri, Columbia, from where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting.

He grew an interest in shooting since childhood. His brother gave him a gun as a Christmas present at the age of thirteen. He attended rural elementary schools he completed his schooling at Palmyra and Monroe city High school. He later enrolled in Hannibal-LaGrange College, where he received a bachelor’s degree at the University of Missouri. During his college days, he developed an interest in the skeet shooting. He graduated from College in the U.S Air force in 1971.

He continued his studies through the on-base school program and received an MS in management at the University of Arkansas. He received a direct commission in the Medical Service Corps and was promoted as a second Lieutenant. In 1977 he completed his commitment to the Air Force holding the rank of First Lieutenant.
